Bruges, Belgium (6 galleries)
Central Bruges is one of the best-preserved Medieval cities in Europe. It was the center of the Cloth industry, the Hanseatic League, and an international finance center until the Zwin silted up in the 15th C., turning it into a literal backwater. In the 19th C. it was rediscovered as a tourist destination.
